It was developed by the Israeli Defence Forces and is used by Special Forces world-wide. It is not a traditional martial art. It is a self-protection system designed to enable you to effectively control whatever situation you may find yourself in. Krav Maga is a harmonious combination of harnessing the body’s natural instinct with control. Life-saving skills and easily retainable techniques are taught in a short period of time. Krav Maga will teach you how to use your body to the maximum in terms of path, bodyline, natural reflexes. Depending on the circumstances you are confronted with will dictate how you use your body. It does not matter how your body is structured, who you are; you will learn to control the situation. The situation does not control you. You will not let it. You will learn how to defend yourself against chokes, bear hugs, multiple aggressors as well as attacks involving weapons such as sticks/batons, knives and guns. As well as studio work, our sessions will train you to effectively control attacks outside in the dark, in the car. You will learn how to manage on-lookers who might try to help while you are involved in a multiple-aggressor attack; how to best protect your children and yourself when faced with an aggressive situation.
